Derek Hoehn is an upcoming artist who lives in Douglas, MI. Growing up in southern Indiana on a cattle farm, many of his pieces reminisce on the rawness of nature, focused in its minimalistic forms, lending to the appreciation of construction and roots of his subject. He mainly explores with sculpture utilizing metal, and wire as his main mediums. To Derek the process of designing is an evolving adventure; an active exploration of ideas to form solutions and create something that is not only beautiful, but never completely realized in only one experience.
Derek brings his experience-focused design to Herman Miller in Holland, MI, where he builds environments from a foundation of purpose and variety. He is also a graduate of Indiana University where he received his B.S. in Interior Design and a minor in Studio Art with a focus in sculpture.
